Shell Gadus S3 Wirerope T is a full EP lubricant developed for the lubrication and protection of
open gears, wire ropes and sliding sufaces. The grease is based on high viscosity mineral oils,
inorganic soap thickener and carefully selected additives to provide optimum performance
Applications
• Lubrication of open gears, gear racks,
wire ropes and sliding surfaces.
• Open gears in rotating furnaces, crushing-
, dredger, ball-, rod- and autogenous
mills, gear racks in hoisting machinery, etc
Performance Features
• Excellent anti-wear performance: At
working temperatures, speeds and
pressures, Shell Gadus S3 Wirerope T
forms a protective cushion between the
girth gear and pinion teeth
• Superb load carrying capacity:
Contains10% graphite to reduce tooth
contact zone temperatures, reduce gear
surface pitting and alleviate ‘stick-slip’
conditions
• Adhesiveness: Has very good adhesive
properties and is easy to apply on both
dry and wet surfaces.
• Water repellent: Effectively resists water
‘wash-off’.
• Corrosion protection: Protects metal
surfaces from corrosion in hostile
environments such as salt water
conditions. Repels dirt and dust

Shell Gadus S3 Wirerope T is unlikely to
present any significant health or safety hazard
when properly used in the recommended
application, and good standards of industrial
and personal hygiene are maintained.
After skin contact, wash immediately with
soap and water.
